It’s been a bright start to the half from the visitors, and they probably should be back in this one. A ball into the box is only half cleared by Chelsea, and the ball falls to Mertesacker on the edge of the box. The German fires towards goal, but his effort is straight at Cech.
The Blues’ defence has had the better of Arsenal’s attack too. Cahill and Ivanovic have held the offside line very well, and only Giroud’s early chance has seen the Gunners get behind the back four. It is a risky strategy to play with Walcott’s pace, but is working well at the moment.
